Save the date for the third "Rural Mobility Seminar" scheduled for Wednesday, 5 June 2019, in Seinäjoki, Finland. This seminar will be the third of a series of six seminars organised within the project MAMBA cofinanced by the programme Interreg BSR. The thematic focus will be on Responsibility – Rural mobility between public and business interests.

While intellectuals discuss about mobility as a basic human right, the reality in Europe is less progressive and rather diverse. In some countries, the state provides extensive – yet often decreasing – mobility services to its citizens, in other places vast parts of forces and the state shifts its duties on NGOs and businesses. What is the role, interest and responsibilities of various actors? Which interests prevail in this services and which of them are subject to market shift from public to private responsibility for mobility? How serious are the implications of "transport poverty" and how can they be alleviated by practical and pragmatic solutions?

Particular emphasis will be set on practical insights from successful projects and initiatives, and we will provide ample space to network and mingle with other mobility stakeholders from the Baltic Sea Region and beyond.

The language of the seminar will be English.

The participation in the seminar is free of charge; the participants cover themselves their travel and acommodation costs.

Further information, a detailed agenda and the registration form will be available soon on the project website:
