Bielsko-Biała visited Joensuu in Finland as a part of the project MAMBA concerning the maximised mobility and accessibility of services in regions affected by demographic change.

The mainstream topic of the meeting on 22nd and 23rd March 2018 was the background for the organising and operating of the Mobility Centres and for other innovative solutions. Employees of the Regional Development Agency took part in the working sessions of the project and discussed the limitations of the mobility in the region of Bielsko-Biała.

The next stage of the project will be the pre-study on the local and national framework for the planned pilot actions.

The limited mobility is not only a nuisance for the inhabitants of the inaccessible areas. It also creates a vicious circle augmenting the marginalisation of the area and, thus, the transport solutions are continuously reduced due to the low popularity and decreasing number of users. This is why many institutions look for modern and effective alternatives for the inefficient solutions.
